A
C14-22 Alkyl Alcohol, C12-20 Alkyl Glucosides – An eco-emulsifying agent derived from a GMO free natural source. It is extracted from vegetable oils including palm and coconut. Excellent compatibility with all the oils and esters that we are using in our formulation especially with olive oil making it best suited for moisturizing milk.
Acer Saccharum Extract – A natural ingredient extracted from Sugar Maple. With Alpha hydroxy acid which increases cell renewal. Has natural exfoliating property that can help get rid of dead skin cells revealing a younger, softer skin.
Alcohol - Derived from grain. A natural emulsifier and preservative that help ingredients penetrate the skin (carrier). It also acts as an anti-bacterial agent.
Aloe barbadensis (Aloe Vera) Leaf Extract - also known as the medicinal aloe; it is rich in vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, proteins, and it is a natural humectant that helps support moisture balance of the skin. For centuries, people have recognized its healing, skin-soothing and moisturizing properties. In ancient Egypt, it is considered the “Plant of Immortality”.
Alpha-Bisabolol – An active component in chamomile flowers. Used for hundreds of years in cosmetics because of its skin healing properties. Known for its antiphlogistic or anti-inflammatory, anti-irritant and anti-microbial property. It conditions and soothes the skin, a natural ingredient found in our Baby Nappy Cream.
Avena sativa (Oat) Kernel Meal - A coarse meal obtained by grinding kernels of Oat. A natural exfoliant that removes old dead skin cells which can be found in our Oatmeal soap bar.
Arnica montana Extract – A natural skin conditioning agent that has an anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and analgesic property. It improves wound healing, stimulates blood circulation and is recommended for treatment of bruises, hematoma, swelling and skin irritations found in our exfoliating soap bar.
B
Behentrimonium Methosulfate - Derived from vegetable source; A mild, natural self-emulsifying wax and conditioner. It has a superior wet combing ability, excellent for hair detangling, a thickening agent, leaves a soft powdery after feel with no build up on hair and has a moisturizing effect.
Benzyl Alcohol - Derived from plants; safe, effective, food-grade preservative. Benzyl alcohol is an organic compound and a natural constituent of a variety of essential oils.
Beta Carotene – Also known as pro Vitamin A found in certain orange vegetables like carrots. It acts as an antioxidant, protecting cells against oxidation damage. It is a nutritional pigment employed as a natural colorant in our lip balm and shampoo.
Beta-Glucan - Beta-glucan is the soluble fibre found in the cell walls of oat kernels which is composed of glucose molecules. Promotes healing, stimulates collagen synthesis and cellular turnover that improves the skin’s appearance and erases fine lines and wrinkles. It also protects and moisturizes.
Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) - Derived from the Karite fruit on the Mangifolia tree that grows wild in the Savannahs of West Africa. Used by African women for decades as a powerful moisturizer to keep their skin and hair nourished and protects it from harsh climatic conditions. Comprised of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids, as well as vitamin E and carotene, this oil acts as a soothing moisturizer and emollient for the skin. Vitamin A in shea butter is important for improving a number of skin conditions, including blemishes, wrinkles, eczema and dermatitis. It is also a natural sunblock.
C
Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract - Used in ancient Greek and Roman cultures as food, cosmetic and medicinal herb. It stimulates skin cell metabolism, prevents free radicals and protects cells from its destructive effects. It has anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial properties. Most often used topically for healing of minor burns, scrapes, abrasions, skin infections and diseases and helps against dry eczema and psoriasis. It also protects the skin from cracking and chill.
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract - Derived from the leaves of the green flower-bearing camellia bush. A source of several B-Complex vitamins, including B2. The powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of green tea polyphenols provide free radical protection and help to renew the skin. It has shown anti-wrinkle actions as well as alleviates inflammation of the skin.
Chamomilla recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract – An extract obtained from the stalks of Matricaria chamomilla, commonly known as Chamomile. It is an herb that has gained popularity over the centuries due to its numerous uses whether to cure common ailments or as a personal care component. It has shown to soothe the skin and has anti-irritant and anti-oxidant properties. Chamomile flowers are known to have antiseptic activity and promote wound healing.
Caprylic/Capric Triglycerides - Derived from coconut, commonly known as fractionated coconut oil that is colorless, odorless and tasteless. It is a carrier for active ingredients that help improve application of skin care formulas and an emollient that facilitates quick skin penetration
Caprylyl Glycol - Derived from coconut. Humectant and wetting agent in cosmetic and skin care formulations. Good spreading capabilities.
Carthamus tinctorius Oleosomes – A widely grown crop cultivated to parts of S. Asia and Egypt for food, medicine and eventually became a functional cosmetic ingredient. It is an Ecocert raw material that complies with the standards for ecological and organic cosmetics. It is a highly efficient natural emulsifier that promotes superior moisturization and aesthetics.
Castor Isostearate - Derived from the castor bean/seed. A natural, biodegradable and 100% active vegetable emollient used for its soothing and protective properties. Also provides shine, allows smoother application and has an excellent pigment wetting and dispersing ability.
Beeswax Succinate Cera Alba – or Beeswax, derived from honeycomb, it is one of the oldest and purest of waxes. For ages people used it for its antiseptic, wound healing as well as emollient, soothing, softening and moisture retention properties. It is a natural emulsifier, a humectant and thickening agent for our balms, baby nappy and foot cream.
Cetearyl Alcohol & Cetyl Alcohol – produced from vegetable oils such as palm oil. It provides creaminess to products. Used as an emollient and stabilizing agent that conditions and moisturizes.
Cetearyl Glucoside - Natural emulsifying wax extracted from corn and coconut. Known to be mild and non-irritating, it helps skin retain its natural moisture, imparting that soft velvety feeling.
Cetearyl olivate & sorbitan olivate- these emulsifiers belong to the new generation of natural, PEG- free emulsifiers derived from olive oil fatty acids. Olive oil has a similar fatty acid distribution profile to the human sebum, and it is for this reason that it has an extremely high affinity to the skin. This emulsifier has strong ability to restore the skin lipid barrier and their repeated application can provide a restructuring and hydrating improvement of the skin in the long term.
Cetyl Palmitate -Plant derived from ester of cetyl alcohol and palmitic acid. It is used as an emulsifier that smoothens and moisturizes the skin.
Chlorphenesin - Preservative and stabiliser with anti-fungal and antibacterial characteristics. Benzyl Alcohol - Derived from plants; safe, effective, food-grade preservative.
Citric Acid (Vitamin C) - Derived from citrus fruit. Natural food grade preservative which maintains proper pH balance in products. Powerful antioxidant activity, beneficial towards photo-aged skin, promotes skin rejuvenation.
Citrus Aurantium Amara (Bitter Orange) – Also known as “petit grain” derived from orange peel. Widely used by Italian, French and Spanish Herbalist which dates back to 17th century. Ancient Greeks use it in aromatherapy as a calming agent. As a cosmetic component, it revitalizes, refreshes the skin and has a soothing skin-conditioning agent with beneficial fragrant qualities.
Citrus Medica Limonum Extract – Derived from lemons. With naturally occurring Alpha Hydroxy Acids that boosts cell renewal. Rich in Vitamin C.
Cocoamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine – derived naturally from coconut oil. A mild and effective surfactant and cleansing agent which helps loosen dirt and other particles from hair and skin.
Cocoglycerides – A natural skin conditioning agent derived from purified coconut oil. Used as an emollient and thickening agent. Promotes smooth, soft skin.
Cucumis sativus Extract – The cucumber plant is known for 4000 years in India and Egypt to moisturize skin and restore its radiance. The flesh is a popular element in cosmetics and most commonly used to cover the face as a beautifying agent. It is rich in vitamin C, an excellent ingredient for anti-aging creams. It heals, cools and soothes irritated skin keeping it supple and fairer.
Cymbidium Grandiflorum Flower - An extract of the orchid Cymbidium grandiflorum that blooms from late winter through summer. Orchids have been used for ages due to its protective and reparative properties. It is rich in minerals and compounds that help moisturize the skin, fight off free radicals and reduces the appearance of fine lines. This extract is a vegetable emollient base that enhances product spreadability and delivers a smooth after-feel to the skin with no oily residue. Rejuvenating, promotes cell renewal and toning.
D
Decyl cocoate - A unique, natural, cosmetic oil based compound of coconut fatty acids and decyl alcohol. It is a quick absorbing compound with low viscosity and low spreadability. It moisturises and mattes the skin without giving it an oily feel that lasts long.
Decyl Glucoside – a mild surfactant derived from corn. An extremely mild, foaming agent for cleansing.
Disodium Cocoamphodiaceate - Derived from coconut oil. Safe, skin-friendly cleanser for both skin and hair that effectively removes surface oil, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin. A mild foaming agent that can reduce irritation of products.
Disodium Lauryl Sulfosuccinate - Derived from coconut oil and lauryl alcohol. A very mild cleanser and foaming agent, excellent for sensitive skin.
D-Panthenol – also known as Pro-Vitamin B5. It is derived from rice husks. Its role as an ingredient for skin care is to deeply moisturize it; has a healing effect and anti-inflammatory properties. It leaves the skin feeling smooth. Effective in the treatment of irritated and sensitive skin. As a hair care component, it’s a superb moisturizer, prevents damage, has a thickening effect and improves sheen and luster. Used in pharmaceutical creams for its soothing and calming properties.
E
Essential Oil Mixture – essential oils consist of Mentha piperita Oil, Lavandula angustifolia Oil, Eucalyptus citriodora Oil, Foeniculum vulgare Oil, Gaultheria procumbens Leaf Oil found in our soothing foot cream. Essential oils are used in alternative medicine due to its healing properties. It has antiseptic properties and is known to have an uplifting effect on the mind.

Fragrance- Hypoallergenic fragrances derived from plant extracts.
Fucus Vesiculosus Extract- A natural ingredient derived from bladderwrack, a type of seaweed found on the coast of Northern Atlantic Ocean, the Pacific Ocean and Baltic Sea. Helps reduce moisture loss and has long been used to soothe irritated and inflamed skin. Helps maintain the skin’s elasticity as it contains non-essential and essential amino acids such as proline, glycine and lycine, all found in the elastic fibres of the skin. An exceptional ingredient that has anti aging properties whereby proven to have tightening, anti-wrinkling and anti-sagging properties.
G
Gardenia Yellow R 3014 / Gardenia Blue R 3017 – Pure, edible and water soluble pigment; a natural coloring extracted from the gardenia fruit of Madder family: Gardenia Jasmimoides ELLIS.
Glycerin - An emulsifying agent that softens and moisturizes the skin; derived from naturally occurring plant fatty acids. A hygroscopic agent that attracts water from the environment and increases the water in the surface of the skin as well as a humectant that prevents moisture loss. It is a skin identical ingredient that helps prevent dryness or scaling.
Glyceryl Laurate - Derived from vegetable oils mainly from coconut or palm and glycerin. Helps consistency of creams and lotions. It is known to condition, soften and smoothen the skin. It also acts as an emollient and surfactant.
Glyceral stearate citrate - Another versatile emulsifier derived from ester of glycerin and stearic acid. Natural, PEG- free, 100% vegetable based and has excellent oil binding capacity. Gives a good moisturising effect on skin without the oily feeling.
Glycine Soya Oil - Derived from the soy bean. It has long been grown for its protein, lecithin and oil content making it an effective moisturizer. Rich in fatty acids, vitamin A, E and K and has antioxidant properties.
Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride – A derivative of natural guar gum. It imparts good conditioning to the hair and has thickening properties. It also improves ease of combing.
H
Hematite Extract – Extracted from gem stone, rich in iron and minerals. Hematite is a stone of healing. It is a powerful active ingredient for collagen synthesis stimulation. It acts as a filler that increases the density of the skin improving its barrier function. It diminishes wrinkles and folds making it a very effective anti aging component.
Hydrogenated Cottonseed Oil - Derived from the seeds of the cotton plant and is considered a highly stable vegetable oil. Cottonseed oil is rich in palmitic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid and a good level of natural antioxidants. It moisturizes and softens the skin.
Hydrogenated Palm Glycerides - Derived from palm oil and used to emulsify and provide consistency.
Hydrolysed Wheat Protein – derived naturally from wheat protein containing essential Linolenic fatty acids. It has a unique hydrating complex that combines moisture balancing and film forming properties. It is used to emulsify product and soften skin.
Hydroxypropyltrimonium Honey - A natural, active ingredient made from pure honey. This conditioning agent has excellent moisture binding capabilities that draw moisture from the air into the skin keeping it soft and supple. It is a substantial moisturizer that enhances hair shine.
Leptospermum scoparium mel (UMF 15.5+ Manuka Honey) - A sweet and viscous fluid produced by honey bees and derived from the nectar of flowers. A nutrient-rich emollient and humectant that helps retain water in the skin keeping it soft and supple. We use Manuka Honey with high UMF value making it a superior antibacterial and antiseptic agent. It is also known to have healing properties.
I
Inulin - A polymer of fructose derived from chicory roots. A soluble dietary fibre that is non-irritant, bio-degradable and environment friendly. With added health benefits and texturising properties, it is substantial to the keratin in skin and hair. A natural ingredient with powerful moisturizing effect.
Inulin Lauryl Carbamate - A copolymer derived from Chicory Inulin; it is a storage carbohydrate found naturally in vegetables, fruits and cereals. A non-ionic surfactant system which is also used as an emulsion stabiliser.
J
Jojoba Esters – Derived from Jojoba, an American plant indigenous to the Sonoran desert of Arizona. A natural, liquid wax ester known for centuries to treat skin disorders. It is an odorless, non-greasy moisturizer that nourishes the skin, providing suppleness and smoothness.
L
Lactic Acid - Produced by bio-fermentation from grain starch. Exfoliates, refines and clears skin. It is used to assist in moisturizing and is beneficial in management of skin problems.
Linoleic acid and Linolenic acid – Essential Fatty Acids commonly known as Vitamin F. Brings youthful glow and suppleness to the skin. Makes hair more shiny and healthy.
M
Mannitol – derived from sugar, also called Manna and may also be referred to as Mannite or Manna Sugar. Acts as a binder, skin conditioner and moisturizer.
Macadamia Ternifolia (Macadamia) Seed Oil - Derived from macademia nut, sought after because of its Palmitoleic Acid content which has long been known to benefit the skin. This emollient oil spreads easily and quickly penetrates specially on damaged skin. Non-greasy, quickly replenishes lost oil and leaves the skin smooth and soft.
Mangifera Indica (Mango) Butter – A natural hydrating emollient with regenerative properties. Traditionally used to sooth, moisturize and soften the skin. A good source of essential fatty acids derived from the kernels of the mango seed. Dermatologist recommended to treat wrinkles and fine lines. A highly beneficial component with healing properties and known to treat a number of skin problems such as eczema and dermatitis. It also relieves insect bites and sunburn. Helps consistency and stabilisation of emulsions.
Moringa pterygosperma Seed Extract – A long lasting oil rich in rich in Copper, Calcium and vitamins A & C. It contains antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties which help heal minor skin complaints. It is an active ingredient in our conditioner which helps repair, strengthen and condition hair. Protects hair against environmental stress. It also improves the aspect of greasy hair and shields it from cigarette smoke odor.

Narcissus tazetta Bulb Extract – A natural aqueous extract from dormant bulbs able to slow down cell proliferation in a reversible manner. Enhances youth preservation and improves the appearance of the skin. It optimizes youth capital preservation, with anti-wrinkling properties and a whitening and lightening agent. An active ingredient in our night cream.
O
Octyldodecanol - Derived from beeswax esters. Used primarily as a thickener in moisturizer because of its lubricating and emollient properties.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil - An important historic oil used extensively in ancient times. Obtained by crushing and pressing the fruit of the olive tree preserving all minerals and essential vitamins. Assists the skin’s ability to naturally regenerate, nourish, hydrate, oxygenate and protect itself. High in oleic acid, a monounsaturated fatty acid known for its moisturising properties. Used for centuries as an emollient for conditioning and softening the skin. Highly nutritive and stable, it contains protein, minerals, vitamins and it has superior penetrating power, in addition to having acidic and antioxidant values.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Oil Unsaponifiables - Sterol-rich, natural component of olive oil that delivers moisturising benefits. It imparts light touch, unique texture and a gentle feeling property on hair and skin. It is also a conditioning agent that improves the overall manageability of hair as well as its silkiness.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Kernel Powder – A natural exfoliant and cleansing agent derived from Olive seed. It effectively relieves skin of dead skin cell revealing a youthful radiant skin. An excellent cosmetic ingredient that prevents skin aging and hyper pigmentation.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract – A multifunctional, natural ingredient that combats free radical damage to individual skin cells. It improves the skin’s elasticity, lightens it and prevents photodamage. A potent antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal agent.
P
Palmitic Acid - One of the saturated fatty acids found in animals and plants. A major component of the oil from palm trees (palm oil and palm kernel oil). A natural ingredient that helps in the consistency of emulsions.
Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil – A natural skin care ingredient derived from avocado fruit. Easily absorbed by the skin, it is a good source of proteins, vitamins A, C & E, amino acids and essential fatty acids. Known to accelerate healing, recommended for chronic eczema and other skin disorders; it is known to restore and regenerate scarred skin. With anti oxidant properties, conditions and softens the skin.
Phenoxyethanol – Derived from sage essential oil. A safe and effective food grade preservative approved globally for personal care which is paraben and formaldehyde-free. Also used as an insect repellent, a topical antiseptic. Soluble in water, often used in dermatological products such as skin creams. It provides optimum prevention of bacterial growth without any effect on the product.
Polyquaternium-57 - Based on polymerised castor oil. Its cationic nature makes it ideal for hair conditioners. It performs very effectively on damaged (coloured, permed or bleached) hair and is a superb detangler.
Potassium Cetyl Phosphate - Derived from coconut oil. A 100% safe, organic skin care ingredient used as an emulsifier.
Prunus Aremeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil – A natural ingredient extracted from apricot stone. Rich in vitamin A and Oleic Acid which helps improve skin elasticity. A soothing, easily absorbed softening agent.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Oil - Derived from the almond nut. An excellent lubricant and emollient high in oleic, linoleic and other fatty acids. Ideal in the treatment of dry, chapped skin. It heals, protects and moisturizes with a sweet, pleasant fragrance. Native sweet almond protein has similar properties with collagen and is an excellent anti aging component that retains moisture, softens and smoothens the skin. Specially suited for sensitive skin.
Punica granatum Fruit Extract commonly known as pomegranate, grenade, granats and punica apple. Reported to have antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral as well as therapeutic properties, it is a popular herb used in traditional medicine. It is also used to treat skin infections, acne and allergic dermatitis..
R
Rose Absolute – extracted from Rosa damascena Mill. A natural perfume and masking agent employed in our Eye Cream. With a spicy, luxurious rose aroma; it also has a moisturizing and balancing effect on facial creams. An effective anti aging component.
Rosa Rubiginosa (Rosehip) Oil – cold pressed, derived from the rosehip seed, a wild rose found in the valleys of Chile. Helps promote cellular regeneration and revitalizes the skin. High in vitamins A and C. It is an exceptional emollient oil containing good antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and astringent properties. Offers healing and soothing properties to dry, irritated and damaged skin. A superior moisturizing agent with high absorbency level.
S
Saccharomyces Lysate Extract – A natural ingredient derived from live yeast cell derivative. Having a distinct moisturizing ability, it was proven to have a compelling property able to increase metabolic rate in the growing layers of the skin augmenting skin regeneration that makes it an excellent anti aging component. An excellent skin soothing agent that reduces fine lines and wrinkles.
Saccharum Officinarum Extract – a natural ingredient extracted from sugar cane. Traditionally used in ancient Greece and Rome primarily as medicine. Rich in iron, vitamins and calcium and has naturally occurring Alpha Hydroxy Acids which increases cell regeneration. With anti-bacterial properties and a natural exfoliant.
Simmondsia chinensis (Jojoba) Oil – A natural vegetable oil derived from Jojoba bean, similar to the sebum secreted by human skin. Exceptional skin-softening and moisturizing properties promoting skin suppleness suitable for everyday use. Helps restore the skin’s natural pH balance. Acts as a humectant creating a protective film over the skin and hair shaft helping them retain moisture. It revitalizes, nourishes and relieves sun burn.
Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate - Derived from citrus fruit, it liberates Vitamin C in the skin. A powerful antioxidant essential for health. Protects skin cells by scavenging oxidising agents and free radicals in the skin. Promotes skin elasticity by helping collagen formation.
Sodium Cocoate – derived from coconut oil. It is used in soap making as an emulsifier. A gentle cleansing agent in the skin.
Sodium Coco-Sulphate – derived naturally from pure coconut oil. A skin-friendly surfactant (foaming agent).
Sodium Chloride - The major ingredient in salt, commonly known as table salt. Rich in minerals and helps promote circulation. Has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties.
Sodium Hyaluronate.- A natural humectant and conditioning agent that nourishes, protects, regenerates and moisturizes. It has an excellent water retentive capacity and high visco-elasticity. An ingredient that can be found in our conditioner.
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate - a natural, Ecocert, food grade emulsifier derived from sodium salt of lactic acid. Safe, skin-friendly cleanser for skin and hair that effectively removes, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin. It moisturizes the skin giving it a smooth feeling and enhances delivery of active ingredients.
Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate - A safe, skin-friendly cleanser for both skin and hair that effectively removes surface oil, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin, producing a very rich lather. A small molecule ingredient capable of penetrating the skin. It is an effective component in bringing back liveliness and sheen in chemically treated hair.
Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate – A natural, skin-friendly surfactant (foaming agent) for both skin and hair. Mild, gentle, and non-irritating. Creates a rich lather that effectively removes surface oil, dirt and bacteria, without stripping or drying sensitive skin. Hydrophilic (attracted to water), enabling it to be dissolved more readily in water.
Sodium Palmate – A natural additive derived from palm oil used as an ingredient in soap making.
Sorbitan Palmitate - A lipophilic emulsifier with moisture binding abilities. It also serves as a solubiliser of essential oils in water.
Sorbic Acid - Used as a preservative system and pH buffer. Sorbic acid and its mineral salts are anti-microbial agents often used as preservatives in food and drinks to prevent the growth of mold, yeast and fungi.
Spilanthes Acmella Flower Extract - also known as Paracress that grows mainly in subtropical regions. It is primarily used as a condiment due its flavour and enhancement properties. Its active component, alkylamides is known in traditional medicine for its immuno-stimulating effects and as an analgesic. Used as a cosmetic ingredient, it has a powerful relaxing activity and smoothening effect that reduces fine lines and wrinkles; a magnificent component that helps combat signs of ageing.
Spring Water – Produced from the natural aquifer of Simunovich Olive Estate that went through filtration and UV treatment to ensure purity. It is employed to achieve consistency, hydrate skin and help ingredients penetrate the skin.
Squalane- sourced naturally from vegetable product, primarily from olive oil. Squalane boosts the skin’s ability to naturally regenerate, nourish, hydrate, oxygenate and protect itself. It not only moisturises the skin but also provides a barrier preventing trans-dermal water loss. Has antioxidant and immune-stimulating properties. A wonderful ingredient that slows down the aging process, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and soothes dry, irritated skin.
Stearic Acid - Derived from vegetables. Carbon fatty acid occurring in most fats and oils, particularly of tropical plants. Used pharmaceutically as a tablet and capsule lubricant and as an emulsifying and solubilising agent. Helps in the consistency of emulsions.

Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Butter - Derived from roasted cocoa seeds. This nutrient-rich ‘food of the gods,’ has excellent emollient properties. Used to soften and protect chapped, dry skin. Also known to stimulate blood circulation, diminish blemishes and clears the skin of impurities.
Xanthan Gum - Xanthan gum is a type of vegetable gum, which originates from sources such as seeds, plant exudates and marine plants. It is used in cosmetics as a thickener, emulsifier and stabilizer.
